Part IV: People & Technology · Casino Personnel & Organizational Hierarchy
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Executive / Corporate
The executive responsible for the day-to-day operational management of casino properties and business units. The COO translates the CEO’s strategic vision into operational reality, overseeing property-level general managers, regional operations, and cross-functional coordination. In gaming companies, the COO typically has direct authority over gaming operations, food and beverage, hotel operations, and facilities management across all properties.
In practice
In many casino companies, the COO title may be combined with “President” (President and COO). Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts, and Penn Entertainment all maintain COO positions reporting to the CEO.
