Commission
Baccarat
A 5% fee collected by the house on all winning banker bets in standard baccarat. The commission exists because the banker bet wins approximately 50.68% of all non-tie hands, giving it a statistical advantage. Dealers track commissions using small boxes marked on the table layout, collecting them either per hand or when a player leaves the table.
In practice
In Macau, commissions are typically tracked in half-unit increments. Some casinos offer commission-free variants (EZ Baccarat, Super 6) that alter payout rules to maintain house edge.
