Baccarat

The fixed set of rules that determine whether the player or banker hand receives a third card in Punto Banco. The tableau is entirely automatic — neither players nor dealers have any discretion in card drawing. Player hand draws on 0-5, stands on 6-9. Banker hand rules depend on both the banker total and, if drawn, the player’s third card value.

In practice

Every dealer must memorize the tableau perfectly. Surveillance should verify dealer compliance with tableau rules, as deviations (accidental or intentional) can create player advantages. Tableau cards are typically posted at the table for reference.
