Front-End Comp / Upfront Comp

Comps & Incentives

Complimentary services provided to a player at the time of their visit or in advance of play, typically authorized by the host or player development team based on the player’s expected or historical ADT. Front-end comps include pre-arranged room reservations, restaurant bookings, show tickets, and airport pickup provided before or at the beginning of a gaming trip. These comps represent a commitment by the casino based on expected future play and carry risk if the player’s actual play falls short of expectations. Front-end comp authorization requires host judgment and management oversight to prevent abuse.

In practice

Front-end comping strategy requires balancing hospitality (providing an excellent experience) with risk management (ensuring play justifies the investment).
