Jackpot Attendant
Slot Department
A slot attendant specifically assigned to handle large jackpot payouts, which require additional verification, paperwork, and coordination. The Jackpot Attendant verifies the winning combination on the machine, confirms the jackpot amount with a supervisor or manager, completes all required documentation, obtains signatures from verifiers, processes the payout through the cage or directly from a dedicated jackpot bank, and ensures surveillance captures the entire process. Large jackpots may also involve marketing for publicity and guest services for player comfort.
In practice
In the U.S., jackpot payouts of $1,200 or more on slots require completion of IRS Form W-2G for tax reporting. Jackpot attendants must be knowledgeable about these requirements.
