The Jackpot Attendant verifies the winning combination on the machine, confirms the jackpot amount with a supervisor or manager, completes all required documentation, obtains signatures from verifiers, processes the payout through the cage or directly from a dedicated jackpot bank, and ensures surveillance captures the entire process. Large jackpots may also involve marketing for publicity and guest services for player comfort.

In the U.S., jackpot payouts of $1,200 or more on slots require completion of IRS Form W-2G for tax reporting. Jackpot attendants must be knowledgeable about these requirements.
