Part IV: People & Technology · Casino Personnel & Organizational Hierarchy

Slot Attendant / Slot Floor Person

Slot Department

The frontline employee responsible for providing customer service on the slot floor, including processing hand-paid jackpots, resetting machines after jackpots, performing hopper fills, answering player questions, reporting machine malfunctions to technicians, and maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the gaming area. Slot Attendants are the primary face of the slot department to players and play a critical role in the player experience.

In practice

Slot attendants must respond quickly to jackpot bells and machine lights. In most jurisdictions, hand-paid jackpots require verification by both the attendant who initiates the payout and an independent verifier (another attendant, supervisor, or security officer).
