Slot Change Person / Booth Cashier

Slot Department

An employee stationed in a booth or kiosk on the slot floor who exchanges currency for coin (in coin-operated jurisdictions), provides change, cashes tickets, and may issue payoffs. The Change Person (historically a critical role when slot machines accepted and dispensed coin) furnishes slot attendants with their starting money bank at the beginning of each shift and counts and audits money drawers. With the widespread adoption of TITO systems, this role has diminished but remains relevant in some markets.

In practice

In coin-operated jurisdictions, change persons are essential for keeping machines operational. In TITO-dominant markets, this function has largely been absorbed into automated kiosks and the cage.
