Security Manager

Surveillance and Security

The department head responsible for all physical security operations at a casino property. The Security Manager oversees uniformed security officers, access control personnel, and loss prevention staff; develops security policies and emergency response procedures; coordinates with local law enforcement; manages incident response and investigation; and ensures the physical safety of patrons, employees, and assets. The Security Manager works closely with the Surveillance Director but typically reports through a separate chain of command to maintain independence.

In practice

The security department and surveillance department are typically separate reporting structures to prevent conflicts of interest. Some properties combine both under a single “Director of Security and Surveillance,” though this is less common in modern operations.
