Surveillance Investigator

Surveillance and Security

A specialized surveillance employee responsible for conducting detailed investigations into suspected internal theft, player cheating, fraud, or regulatory violations. The Surveillance Investigator analyzes video evidence, compiles detailed reports with supporting footage, interviews subjects (in coordination with HR and security), works with law enforcement when criminal activity is confirmed, and testifies in court or regulatory hearings. Investigators typically handle cases that extend beyond a single shift and require deep analytical work.

In practice

Not all properties maintain dedicated investigator positions; at smaller casinos, surveillance supervisors or the surveillance director may handle investigations. In larger operations, investigators may specialize in specific areas (e.g., table games fraud, employee theft, AML investigations).
