Security Officer / Security Guard

The uniformed or plainclothes employee responsible for patrolling casino property, maintaining order, preventing theft and vandalism, responding to emergencies, checking identification, enforcing property rules, escorting employees during cash handling, and providing assistance to guests. Security Officers are the visible deterrent to criminal activity and the first responders to disturbances, medical emergencies, and safety hazards. They generate written reports on all security-related incidents.
In practice
Casino security officers receive specialized training in gaming-related security matters, including chip and cash escorts, gaming table protection, and regulatory compliance. In some jurisdictions, security officers must obtain a private security license or casino employee registration.
