Cage Manager
Cage / Vault
The supervisor responsible for all operations within the casino cage – the central financial hub where patrons exchange cash for chips, redeem chips for cash, cash checks, process credit card advances, and conduct wire transfers. The Cage Manager oversees cage cashiers, main bankers, and vault operations; ensures compliance with internal controls and AML regulations; authorizes large transactions; investigates discrepancies; and coordinates with the count room, surveillance, and accounting departments. The Cage Manager is a key employee position requiring extensive gaming and financial controls knowledge.
In practice
The cage is typically divided into multiple windows or positions, with the Cage Manager positioned to observe all activity. In Asia-Pacific properties, the cage may be called the “Cash Desk” or “Main Cashier.”
