The senior cage employee responsible for the main bank or vault – the primary secure storage area for all casino cash, chips, coin, and financial instruments. The Main Banker issues cashier banks (starting cash drawers) to cage cashiers at the beginning of shifts, receives and counts all cashier banks at shift end, processes fill and credit requests for the gaming floor, prepares bank deposits, reconciles vault inventory, and maintains the vault accountability ledger. The Main Banker is a highly trusted position requiring dual-custody procedures for all vault access.

In practice

Main Banker positions often function as a dual-rate role, with the Main Banker also serving as a Cage Cashier on some shifts. Vault access typically requires two employees from different departments (e.g., cage and security) to be present simultaneously.
