Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS)
Compliance
The baseline internal control requirements established by the US National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) that tribal gaming operations must implement and follow. MICS cover all gaming activities including bingo, table games, gaming machines, card games, and cashiering operations. The standards specify requirements for accounting procedures, cash handling, drop and count processes, patron account management, and documentation. Tribal gaming facilities may also establish their own Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS) or System of Internal Controls (SICS) that meet or exceed the MICS baseline.
