Responsible Gaming Program (RG Program)

Responsible Gaming

A documented and implemented set of policies, procedures, and practices through which a casino fulfills its responsible gaming obligations. An RG program typically includes: employee training on recognizing problem gambling indicators; self-exclusion program administration; on-property signage and disclosure of responsible gaming information and helpline numbers; underage gambling prevention measures; responsible advertising practices; patron education materials; financial and time limit tools; and regular program evaluation and reporting. In many jurisdictions, casinos are required to submit their RG program for regulatory approval and provide periodic updates on program activities and outcomes.
