Dealer Collusion (Payout Errors)
How it works
Dealers intentionally making payout errors to benefit confederates: overpaying winning bets, paying losing hands, or failing to collect losing wagers. A dealer working with a player deliberately overpays a winning bet by adding extra chips, pays a losing hand as if it won, or pretends not to see a losing bet and doesn’t collect it. Requires the dealer to falsify the game’s natural resolution.
On the record
Dealer collusion is a persistent threat. One case involved a dealer who overpaid a confederate by $500 per hand over several shifts, splitting proceeds afterward. Caught on surveillance review of “payoff patterns.”
