Rebate / Cashback Percentage Fraud

High-Roller / Junket / Marker ScamsREPORTEDSkill: Medium

How it works

Manipulating casino rebate programs (where high rollers receive a percentage of losses or theoretical loss back) through fake play, chip cycling, or inflated volume reporting. A player or junket colludes with staff to inflate reported play volume while minimizing actual risk. They may cycle chips through the table without genuine wagering (chip walking), or staff may record higher bets than actually placed. The player then claims rebate percentages on inflated volume.

On the record

Rebate fraud has been documented in Macau, Las Vegas, and Australian casinos. Some junket operators built entire business models on exploiting rebate discrepancies between actual and reported play.
