Baccarat

French for “the big one,” referring to a natural 9 — the best possible hand in baccarat. A natural 9 is achieved when the first two cards dealt total exactly 9, guaranteeing a win unless the opposing hand also has a natural 9 (resulting in a tie). Some casinos offer enhanced payouts for naturals in promotional play.

In Macau VIP rooms, a natural 9 may be called out ceremonially by the dealer when revealed during a squeeze.
