Assistant Shift Manager
Pit and Floor Management
The deputy to the Shift Manager, responsible for supporting shift operations and assuming full Shift Manager authority in their absence. The Assistant Shift Manager typically manages a designated section of the casino floor, assists with scheduling and staffing decisions, handles escalated player issues, and participates in the “roll” (shift transition process). This position is a critical developmental role for advancement to Shift Manager.
In practice
At many properties, Assistant Shift Managers rotate through all pits to gain comprehensive operational knowledge before promotion.
