The Shift Manager oversees all Pit Managers, Floor Supervisors, and dealers on duty, manages staffing levels, authorizes high-value transactions, handles serious player disputes and ejections (86s), coordinates with surveillance and security, and ensures smooth shift transitions including card changes, rack counts, and drop box exchanges. The Shift Manager is the highest-ranking gaming operations authority on property during their shift and often serves as Manager on Duty (MOD).
