Pit Clerk
Pit and Floor Management
The administrative support position within a casino pit, responsible for entering player rating data, processing fill and credit requests, recording table open/close information, managing the pit’s administrative paperwork, and serving as the communication hub between the pit and other departments (cage, surveillance, marketing). The Pit Clerk works at the “pit stand” or “podium” – the raised desk at the center of the pit – and supports the Pit Manager and Floor Supervisors in maintaining accurate records and smooth operational workflow.
In practice
The Pit Clerk role has evolved significantly with computerized player tracking systems. In some Asian properties, this role may be called “Pit Secretary” or “Gaming Clerk.”
